What is in-home nursing care?

In-home nursing care provides professional nursing support in the comfort of your own home. Services are tailored to individual needs and may be provided as a one-off visit or ongoing care.

Who provides the care?

Care is delivered by a highly experienced registered nurse, ensuring consistency, familiarity, and continuity throughout your care.

Do I need a referral to access services?

No referral is required. Clients, families, coordinators, or healthcare professionals may request nursing care directly.

Which areas do you service?

A-Z Nursing services the south-east Melbourne region and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether your area is covered, a phone call is the best place to start.

What days are services available?

Services are available Monday to Friday. Guidance and advice may be provided by phone if concerns arise outside these times.

How do I get started?

Care begins with a phone call or enquiry. We’ll discuss your needs, answer questions, and determine the most appropriate nursing support.

Nurse Care

What types of nursing services do you provide?

Services include in-home nursing care, wound and clinical care, catheter management, dementia care and assessments, palliative and supportive care, and health assessments and monitoring.

Can nursing care be provided as a one-off visit?

Yes. Nursing care can be provided as a single visit or as ongoing support, depending on your needs.

Is the same nurse provided each visit?

Yes. Continuity of care is a priority. You are supported by the same nurse wherever possible, allowing trust and familiarity to develop.

Do you provide support for families and carers?

Yes. Education, guidance, and clear communication are provided to both clients and families to ensure everyone feels supported and informed.

Can you help decide whether hospital care is needed?

While emergency care is not provided, guidance and advice can be offered to help determine whether further medical attention may be required.

Do you work with other healthcare providers?

Yes. Care may be coordinated with GPs, allied health professionals, coordinators, or other providers when appropriate.

Funding and Billing

Are services covered by NDIS or Home Care Packages?

Yes. Services are available to NDIS participants and Home Care Package clients, billed in line with approved pricing.

How does billing work?

Invoices are managed through your plan manager or Home Care Package coordinator, reducing stress for clients and families.

Do you accept private clients?

Yes. Private nursing services are available. Fees can be discussed during the initial consultation.

Safety and Professional Standards

Are you a registered nurse?

Yes. Care is provided by a registered nurse who is registered with AHPRA and practices within professional scope.

Is your service insured?

Yes. A-Z Nursing holds appropriate professional insurance and remains up to date with professional requirements.

How is privacy handled?

All client information is treated with confidentiality and handled in line with privacy regulations and professional standards.
